 Most utility companies have a fee for maintaining their grid—usually around $10 a month. Another factor that would increase your power bill is if you use more electricity than your solar produces. If that’s the case, your power company will charge you the standard rates 

 As of 2021, there is a 26% federal tax credit and state credits that vary by state. Your energy advisor will be able to tell you if your local state or utility company are also providing incentives.
